All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ****************************************************************** Bland, Wolfe City Host First 54-B Baseball Contests Special to The Banner Merit--The 1956 District 54-B baseball schedule opens at Bland and Wolfe City with games at each on Tuesday, April 17, 1956, John F. Cobb, Superintendent of Bland Public Schools, announced Saturday. The Bland diamond team hosts Celeste and Wolfe City entertains Caddo Mills on that date to open the first half of the schedule. All games will start at 2:30 PM. District regulations provide that the home team will furnish the umpires, who must be at least twenty-one years old. The home team also must furnish at least two new balls for each game. If postponement of a contest is deemed necessary, the home team must notify the visiting team by 11:30 AM of the day of the game.
