All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ******************************************************* Celeste Schools Opened Tuesday with Early Classes for First Four Weeks Celeste School opened the 1958 - 1959 term Tuesday, September 2, 1958, with a 10:00 AM assembly. Buses left at 8:45 AM to pick up students. Adjournment was in the early afternoon with buses leaving at 2:30 PM. For the first four weeks school will open at 7:30 AM instead of the usual 8:30 AM time, thereby getting the students home earlier to help with the cotton harvest, according to an announcement by Superintendent G. W. Tillerson. Lunches were served in the lunch room. The price for lunches is twenty-five cents per day or $1.20 per week. The faculty: Mrs. Jestena Hunter, first and second grades Mrs. T. B.
