Hunt Co., TX - Closing Exercises of Celeste High School 1894 ************************************************************ This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb by: Sarah Swindell USGenWeb Archives. All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************ Dear Classmates, I have found a carbon of the closing exercises of CHS graduation class, 1894. The note attached, written but not signed by Mrs. Lewis, reads as follows: "This carbon is from the original, furnished by Mary Eastwood, May, 1978. The program now eighty-four years old, was saved by Mary's own mother, J. R. Eastwood's first wife. Miss Mary was in the process of selling the J. R. Eastwood home, built about 1900. Mary, her brother Glen, and parents lived across the street when a family built the place. Mary was about three when "Miss" Blanche became the new Mrs. J. R. Eastwood and a mother to the two Eastwood children." Closing Exercises Of the Celeste High School Saturday Night May 19, 1894 (The advertisers) H. L.
