All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Speech Pupils Presented Recital Sunday Afternoon Sunday afternoon, April 16, 1967, at 2:00 PM Miss Allegra Byers presented a speech recital in the auditorium of The Celeste High School. participants were pupils of Miss Byers in private speech classes in connection with the school. Words of welcome were given by James LaFavers. Cynthia Harless, Cindie Daniels, and Leah Compton gave "No More Books," a dialogue concerning spring time. David LaFavers gave a reading, "Punishment" as did Stevie Evans, reading, "My Dad." In "One Football Game," Ronnie Lyon explained the intricacies of the game to Mike Armstrong, a novice. Little Ray Evans recited "The He Man" and Brenda Hopson gave "Only One." Mike Lipsey, Chuck Felty, and Gary Lyon enacted "The Vagabond." Jeannie McGee recited "The Ink." In action, Dana Abernathy and Kathryn LaFavers did "Dum As A Doorknob." Sharon Gray gave "When I Grow Up." Concluding the program, James LaFavers, Ronnie Lyon, and Mike Armstrong enacted a playlet, "Bookology." (April 21, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
