If the class did not have this to draw upon, individual members would have to pay the bills. Then, too, each year the seniors leave a gift to the school. At this time, we have a new scoreboard in our gym paid for mainly by the Seniors of '55. Each student should realize that it is a point of loyalty to aid each class in its efforts to raise money for the annual, class expenses, and a gift to the school. The second grade is happy to have Linda Horton back with them after a visit in Arizona. They are proud that Garland Evan's family has a new car. They wish to thank Mr. Gilliam for the pretty Christmas tree. Celeste Notes by Oleta Hackney Miss Shirley Hopewell, who attends ETSTC, is spending the summer holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hopewell. Miss Peggy Compton of ETSTC spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Compton. Miss Joan Shields is attending the majorette and baton twirling school at ETSTC this week. (From Donna Childress Haynes collection) NEW PUNCH BOWL A beautiful new glittering punch bowl set graces the serving table at our party Friday night. We had the misfortune to lose our other two sets and are most happy that the PTA saw fit to replace them with this handsome one, which consists of a high decorative bowl, and unusually attractive tray, ladle, and cups. If this set appears in as many homes and at as many gala affairs as did our old one, it will, indeed, serve us well. We wish to thank the PTA for making this attractive and practical item possible for us.
