Everyone is ready to start back to school and, of course, ready to start studying again. Basketball-- Our next basketball game is scheduled for Friday night, the 3rd. We play Boles Home in the Celeste Gym. Game times is 7:30. Lone Star Party-- The January party for the Lone Star Club was not held on New Year's Eve. The party will be given in the next week or two. The hostesses are Jimmie Jean Passons, Mildred Cunningham, Jackie McGahee, Peggy McGahee, and Doris Williams. Lake, Celeste, Route 2, a baby daughter in a local hospital. Celeste School News Laurene Davis, Editor Basketball-- The Blue Devilenas defeated the Campbell Girls' team in an exciting and thrilling game played in the Celeste gym on Tuesday night. The score was 18-15. In a game following the girls' game, the Blue Devils were defeated by the Campbell boys. The score was 30-14. PTA Meeting-- The Celeste PTA met on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM. The president, Mrs. Jim Davis, presided. The minutes were read and approved. An interesting article was given by Mrs. Ruby Warren. The topic discussed was "Training for Economic Efficiency." Mrs. Carl Ross made a report on the County Council meeting which was held at Caddo Mills. Plans were discussed for the PTA Library shelf to be installed in the CHS Library. The president urged all of the parents to come to PTA. The meeting adjourned to meet again on February 4th. Annuals-- The Seniors have been working hard on their annuals and expect to send the first part of the dummy in as soon as possible. Spotlight-- This week the spotlight is focused on a very sweet and lovable girl. She is Betty Jo Scott. Betty is a junior and is assistant editor of the annual. She has blonde hair and green eyes.
