This old Midway School building is no more. This week, community men turned
out there made use of the muddy days that kept them out of their fields, to
raze the building, prepare the lumber and start on a new structure.

The new building will be a community center, of good size, built on a plot of
land given for the purpose by the Houston Furrs. It will be directly across
from the cemetery. If and when the building is not needed for a community
center, the building will be the property of the Celeste Cemetery Association,
and the land will revert to its owners. The people of Midway community are a
cooperative group. It is expected that many worthwhile meetings will be held
in the new center for years.

The old Midway School building was built in 1915. It was used until 1941 as a
