All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ****************************************************** The girls in the play, "More Perfect Union," brought home a blue ribbon last Tuesday night after giving the play in the one-act tournament in Commerce. They play will be given during the area one-act play tournament in Sulphur Springs on April 5th. Claudette Grantham received the honor of being the best actress in the competition. Frances McMichael and Nelda Davis typed for second place. Mrs. Mildred Roach was director. Cast members also thanked Mrs. Carl Lacy who so willingly furnished her car to carry part of the girls to the tournament. (April 4, 1952) Frances McMichael and Billy Griffis were ready writers. Dorothy Lake and Betty Raper were entered in the spelling competition. Ellen Winsett and Kay Armstrong represented the seventh and eighth grades in spelling. Both junior and senior softball and volleyball teams were entered. Donnie Duncan and Georgann Hackney represented the sixth grade in spelling.
