J. & M. V. Sorelle of the first part and Robert Fox and Mary Fox, his wife of the second part. Witnesseth that the party of the first part hath this day sold unto the party of the second part for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars & Sixteen to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge that bargained sold released & confirmed and in ___ presents doth bargain sell releases confirm unto the party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and twenty five acres more or less known and distinguished a part of Tipton _____?& Hubbard Shorts has right survey beginning 378 varas in the middle of Caney Creek west of Sorrell Denton's N. E. corner and east with said line to the center of H. Shorts eastern boundary line _ varas to the SE corner of T. Denton's head right survey ____& stake then north 95 __ ___ ____ Stake Thence West 117 varas to Cane Creek then SW with the meandering of Samuel Creek to the place of beginning for have and to hold forever with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise thereunto appertaining for which we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and ___ to forever warrant and defend the title unto the party of the second part their Adm., or a assign against all and every person of persons claiming the same under us making the title in all respects usual to the Patent day & date above written signed sealed and delivered in presence of Richard (X) Brown W. J. Sorelle and Mahalia V. Sorelle sign seal and deliver the within Deed for the Consideration and purpose therein set forth and is Prepaid. State of Texas Book I, page 523 County of Hunt Know all men by these presents that we Samuel Denton and his wife, Emaline Denton formerly Emaline Robert daughter of B. C. Roberts deceased of the county & state aforesaid inconsideration of the sum of Forty Dollars & seventy five cents to us in paid by John L. Fox of the County & State aforesaid have this day bargained and sold, and by these presents, doth give, grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said John L. Fox all the right, title, claim and interest which the said Emaline Denton has in and to a certain tract of land Patented to the Heirs of B. C. Roberts deceased Surveyed for one hundred & seventy three acres by virtue of certificate No. 1253 Issued to the Heirs of B. C. Roberts for 640 Acres at the Town of Greenville on the 28 day of August AD 1851. Said 173 acres is situated in Hunt County about 9 miles E. of Greenville Beginning at the N. E. Corner of a 320 acre survey made in the name of Mahaley Sorette assignee of Wm H. Moore from which ___ a cottonwood N 34 degrees E 4 2/10 vrs. Mk. W. H. also an Elm vrs E 14 4/10 vsr. MK. X Then S with the same 929 4/10 vrs. To his S. E. corner a Post in Prairie then E 1055 4/10 vrs. To a post & mound, then N. with the west bind? (boundary?) of a 320 acres survey made in the name of Thomas Stephens assignee of John Mooring 929 4/10 vrs. Intersecting the N body of Mercers Colony line, at a Post & Mound then W. 1055 4/10 vrs. To the beginning said interest of Emaline Denton containing eighty one and a half acres. Undivided, To have and to hold the same with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and bind of him the said John L. Fox his heirs and assignees forever. And we the said Samuel Denton and Emaline Denton bind ourselves our heirs H. to forever warrant and defend the title to the same. Henderson County Clerk of said County, personally appeared Samuel Denton to me well known and acknowledge that he executed the foregoing deed of conveyance for the consideration and purpose therein expressed and set forth. Smith, his wife of the County of Hunt and State of Texas for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars to us in hand paid by John L. Fox (re receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged of the County and State aforesaid have this day Granted Bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain sell and convey into the said John L. Fox, his heirs and assigns the following described tract of land lying and being situated on Timber Creek a ? Of the Cowback fork of Sabine (next line cut off when copied). County and State being apart of 565 0/10 acres survey made by virtue of head right certificate of W. H. Downing and patented to Mahalia SoRelle assignee of said Wm. Downing Beginning at the north west corner of a 283 acre tract deeded by W. J. SoRelle and Mahalia SoRelle out of said 564 9/10 acres survey to Sidney Z. Smith a part from which a box elder marked D. S. bears North bears South 20 degree W 3 varas Then South 365 varas a Black Hicery Marked X for corner Thence East 375 varas a post from which a Black Hicery Marked D bears north 60 degrees W 3 varas Then North 375 varas a Black Jack marked D for corner. Thence West 375 varas to the beginning togeather with all and singular the tenements hereditament and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining To have and to Hold all and singular the above granted premises to him the said John L. Fox his heirs and assigns forever. And we the said Tom G. Smith and his wife S. Z. Smith do hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators to warrant and defend the above Granted premises to him the said John L. Fox his heirs and assignees forever against the claim of all person lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof making this deed equal to the patent for the same. Smith parties to the foregoing and of conveyance dated on the seventh day of September 1875 and acknowledge that they signed the same for the considerations and ________? Therein , noted and the same S. Z. Smith having been examined by us separate and apart from her husband and having the said and fully explained to her acknowledged the same to be her act and declared that she had willingly signed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it To certify all which I hereto set my hand officially and affix my notary and seal on this the 11th day of November AD 1876 A.
