Warranty Deed with Joint Acknowledgment

The State of Texas}
County of Hunt}

Know all men by these presents: That We S. F. HALE and wife S. A. HALE of the 
County of Hunt and State aforesaid, in consideration of the sum Two Hundred 
and Fifty Dollars to us in hand paid  Frank SHIELDS the further sum of two 
Hundred Dollars secured to be paid by promissory note bearing even date 
herewith payable to S. F. Hale due Jan'y 1st 1884 executed by Frank SHIELDS.

Have Granted, Sold and Conveyed, and by these presents do Grant, Sell, Convey 
unto the said   Frank SHIELDS of the County of Hunt and State of Texas, all 
the certain tract or parcel of land situated in Hunt County about 8 miles N. 
15 degrees West from Greenville, apart of the Wm. TOMLINSON Survey of 480 
acres, the same being a part of the land sold by J. J. HUDSPETH to B.B. 
THOMAS and by said THOMAS to S. F. HALE. Beginning at the S. E. corner of 
said tract deeded to THOMAS then to HALE.  Thence N 500 vrs. a stake.  Thence 
E 100 vrs. a stake.  Thence N. 350 vrs. a stake.  Thence W. 361 vrs a stake 
to the N.E. corner of Mrs. SPOONEMORE'S land.  Thence S. 850 vrs. to the S. 
E. corner of the said SPOONEMORE'S tract. Thence E. 261 vrs. to the place of 
beginning containing forty five & 4/10 acres (45 4/10) of land, also the 
following described tract or parcel of land situated in the said County of 
Hunt about ? miles North from Greenville apart of the Julia PORTER survey 
taken out of the J. W. FORD Headright.  Beginning at the N. W. corner of a 25 
acre tract taken out of the said J. M. FORD survey at a hickory marked X.  
Thence N. with the FORD'S, W. B. line to his N.W. corner.  Thence E. with 
FORD'S N. B. line a sufficient distance to include 25 acres of land by 
running south to SHANKS line.  Thence to the place of beginning.

To have and to hold the above described premises, together with all and 
singular the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging, unto the said FRANK 
SHIELDS, his heirs and assigns, forever.  And we do hereby bind ourselves, 
our heirs, executors and administrators, to Warrant and Forever Defend, all 
and singular, the said premises unto the said FRANK SHIELDS, his heirs and 
assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the 
same, or any part thereof.

Witness our hand at Kingston, this 1st day of November A. D. 1883

Before me, J. F. PUCKETT a J.P. and ExOfi. Notary Republic in and for Hunt 
County, Texas, on this day personally appeared S. F. HALE and S. A. HALE, 
wife of S. F. HALE known to me. to be the person whose names are subscribed 
on the foregoing instrument, and acknowledged to me that they executed the 
same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed.  And the said S. 
A. HALE, wife of S. F. HALE, having been examined by me privily and apart 
from her husband and having the same by me fully explained to her, she the 
said, S. A. HALE acknowledged such instrument to me to be her act and deed 
and she declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes and 
consideration therein expressed and that she did not wish to retract it.
