R. Thomason of Hunt County in the state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars - viz. One hundred and Twenty five dollars in hand paid, The remainder. One hundred and Seventy five dollars to be paid by the fifteenth of November. - Eighteen hundred and Eighty five by J. R. Powell of the County of Hunt in the state of Texas for which amount I hold his note bearing even date with this deed. Have this day bargained and sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain and convey unto the said J. R. Powell Eighty acres of land more or less Situated and described as follows it being a part of the Taylors Head right survey Situated in and described as follows Located in Hunt County on the waters of Caddo fork of Sabine River about 13 Miles S. 14º W from Greenville begining at W. B. Taylors N.W. corner of 160 acres survey a post from Which an Elm marked X bears East one vara distant a post oak marked T bears S 39º W 11 varas dis. Thence South to the centre of Dry Creek - Thence up with the meanderings of Dry Creek being the lines to the N.W. line of the original survey Thence North with said line to the N.W. corner a post from which a Black Jack bears S 80º W 2 8/10 vs. dis marked H.T a post oak bears S 4º E 5 3/10 varas distant marked X Thence East 712 3/10 varas to place of begining. Containing 80 acres of land more or less Together with all and singular the right members heretaiments(sic) and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any way appertaining to have and to hold the premises above mentioned unto the said J. R. Powell his heirs and assigns forever and I the said J. R. Thomason do bind myself my heirs administrators to Warrant and forever defend The title to premises above described against all persons lawfully claiming the same or any part Thereof unto the said J. R. Powell his heirs and assigns forever Given under my hand and seal. This thirteenth day of October 1884. J. R. Thomason State of Texas County of Hunt Before me W. H.
