They were: Dana Abernathy and Joanie Warwick Party Hostesses Misses Dana Abernathy and Joanie Warwick were hostesses for a party in the home of Miss Abernathy, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Forest Abernathy. Those attending were Doris Gibson, Sue Davis, Carol Ross, Donna Davis, Beverley Stapleton, Sandra Dickeson, Patti Gray, Tommie Gray, Debbie Rubarts, Kim Morton, Debbie Henslee, Debbie Abernathy, Janet Gilliam, Debra Thurman, Kay Broughton, Russell Compton, Greg Reisor, Gary Reisor, Gary Hackney, Mike Lamm, Bill Barnard, Kenneth Koch, Charles Dupre, Bob Daniels, and the hostesses. Following an evening of entertainment, the girls stayed for slumber party in the home. Seniors Honored in Compton Home Mr. and Mrs. Bob Compton were hosts for a buffet dinner Sunday, May 14, 1967, honoring Miss Janis Justus, Miss Sue Warwick, and Duane Compton, spring graduates of Celeste High School. The day being Mothers' Day honored guests also included Mrs. E. L. Alexander and mothers of the graduates, Mrs. Warwick, Mrs. Hutcheson, and Mrs. Compton. Those who enjoyed the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Gaston Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Compton, Celeste: Mrs. M. N. Alexander and Kay Joyce Alexander, Whitewright; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hutcheson, Janis Justus and Judy Justus, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brewer and Amber Kay Brewer, and Donnie Seals, Celeste. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Renfro, Mark Renfro, Mike Renfro, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Warwick, Sue Warwick, Joanie Warwick, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Standlee, all of Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Compton, Duane Compton, Russell Compton, and Leah Compton. The end-of-school first-grade party was given by Mmes Paul Dan Jones, Doug Armstrong, Joe Morton, Pete Spoonemore, and Bobby Joe Compton. They served cold drinks, cookies, candies, and bubble gum, and gave each student a balloon. The party was also a going away part for Terri Ruff, as she will be moving to Garland when school is out. The class honored her and made her queen for a day. She was presented a crown by Cindy Daniels; an autograph book by Leah Compton; and red pajamas by Delores Girdley, while Mrs. Bill Ruff took pictures with a movie camera. These gifts were presented to Terri by the entire first grade. Saturday morning coffee, hosted by Jane Hunter, was attended by Mmes. Elzada Gibson, Clydie Elam, Tommie Sparks, Jewel Norris, Mildred Roach, Alyne Ruff, Venita Davis, Gladys Lewis, Tommie Jo Shields, Lois Lewis, Mildred Barnard, Stella Byers, Imogene Ross, June Floyd, Marie Gay, Tommie Furr, Pearl Sumrow, and the hostess, Jane Hunter. Elected were: teacher was Tommie Jo Shields, Lois Lewis substitute, Jane Hunter is president; Mrs. H. M. Lee, vice president; Dorothy Pruitt, secretary; Winnie Hunter, assistant secretary; Gladys Lewis, public relations/communications. Gladys had secured the names and addresses of about thirty local men in service and sent "Upper Rooms" to them. Mrs. Eastwood was looking forward with joy to Saturday when her sister, her brother, and two nieces will visit for the day. Her sister, Mrs. Fidelia Needham, who will be ninety-six in August, with her daughter, Mrs. Newton Condray are from Springfield, Missouri. They are visiting in Denison with the brother, E. H. Bell, and another daughter of Mrs. Needham, Mrs. Ruth Nauss. Mrs. Eastwood still talks of the nice visiting during her birthday week in April when Glen and Kathleen Eastwood were here from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ninety-four and ninety-six, the Bell Sisters, and both spry as crickets. Catherine Floyd Entertains Seniors Catherine Floyd was hostess to an afternoon party for the senior girls of Celeste. Games were played and record music was enjoyed. A white iced cake with blue pennant decor was noted on the refreshment table. The graduation theme was carried out in napkins and plates. Snacks with punch and cake were served. Those attending were Alice Roach, Linda Weatherley, Julie Farmer, Joanna Kirkpatrick, Janis Justus, Sue Warwick, Linda Martin, Mary Newman, Barbara Gibson, and Viki Foster.
