Williams, a teacher in the Bland School for six years, will be associated with the Leonard ISD. Those completing the course from Celeste were Keith Thacker, Viki Foster, Dale Gibson, Debbie Foster, Pam Duncan, Ann Brooks, Marianna Floyd, David Wolfe, Glen Wofford, Mary Lou Hazal, Donna Davis, Beverlye Stapleton, Peggy Cawthon, Franky Craver, Gary Reisor, and Beverley McKay. Other students were from Merit, Bailey, Gober, and Wolfe City. Joe Tillerson Joe Tillerson is attending Arlington State College and working in the engineering department at Bell Helicopter in Hurst during the summer. Celeste Students Top At University Two Celeste High School graduates, Joe Tillerson and David Pruitt beginning fourth-year students at Texas A&M University, received notification that they were named Distinguished Students at the University for the past spring semester. Tillerson, the son of Celeste School Superintendent and Mrs. G. W. Tillerson, is employed during the summer with Bell Helicopter Company, Grand Prairie. Pruitt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Pruitt is attending classes at ETSU the first summer semester. His grade points were 2.6 (out of a possible 3.0) at Texas A&M. He attended Kilgore Junior College the first two college years. Another Celeste High School and ETSU graduate, Miss Pat Roach is taking graduate work in the Commerce school this summer. She is employed by the Robert Lee ISD for the coming year. She will teach 5th and 6th grade English and coach junior high basketball and tennis. Miss Roach is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roach, Celeste. Tim Gilliam Attending School Tim Gilliam, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Gilliam, left Sunday, July 9, 1967, for Haskell, Texas for a two-weeks course in music. This is Tim's second year for training of this kind. This is an annual singing normal with training offered by experienced teachers in vocal music, song leading, sight reading, rudiments, harmony, and chorus directing. The classes for daily voice lessons are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The Celeste Church of Christ is sponsoring Tim. (July 14, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
