Jerry Doyle Pearce Joins US Marines
    Jerry Doyle Pearce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie James Pearce of RR 2,
Celeste, has enlisted in the United State Marine Corps and will leave for
recruit training during August of 1967.
    Pearce has taken advantage of the Marine Special 120-Day Delay program,
which allows him to enlist now and leave up to four months later for active
duty.
    After "boot camp" in San Diego, California, Pearce will be transferred to
Camp Pendelton, California for advanced training prior to a twenty-day boot
leave and then go on to a formal school for training or to the Fleet Marine
