The calendar is a 1922 reproduction with a glamour girl of that date as the cover pin-up girl. She is "Margie." Not too many changes in prices. Lavishly fur collared ladies' coats were reduced to $48.00. They were longer in length, but were not much baggier than today's models. A custom build "Chandler" sedan might be a bargain at $2,395.00. The reason for the reproduced calendar is that the years 1922 and 1967 are identical in dates of the month. Does it take that long before the same thing can happen again? Mebane Denny had a coffee for a jolly group and Jane Hunter had a forty-two party at the Hogeye Community Center. It was reported that a watch party out there was a "howling" success. Regular meeting nights are 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Mr. Witt, former operator of the Washateria here, and a recent pleasant guest at Guest House is now in Park Haven. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Gay and children of Dixon, Missouri, visited Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis Friday. Mrs. Dick Saye is ill in a Greenville hospital. Duard Hill has gone to Lubbock to take a course with the telephone company. (January 6, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
