T. NELSON The Greenville Messenger, 31 March 1916, Hunt County, Texas GREENVILLE (There seems to be a great deal of cases against the railroads in the early papers. An example follows.) G. T. Nelson, who sued the Katy (Railroad) for damages because they failed to put him on the train at Celeste, was given judgment by the jury in the sum of $400.00. Mr. Nelson is a cripple and unable to get himself on the train, was late and had no permit, but did have a ticket, and the conductor failed to pick him up, hence the suit and the judgment.
