Mr. Billy Warren presided at the business session. Plans were made to work the following Saturday morning on the center building now in the finishing stages. Reference was made to recent meeting in which the name "Hogeye" was chosen by vote to revert to the original and well known name and community. The school and community were known to have been so named as early as 1850, cited in a book, Murder at the Corners, by a local historian. The community center was formerly called Midway, the name of the local school since 1916 and long since consolidated with Celeste School. Monty Blakemore and Billie Frances Compton, 4H Club members from Kingston, were in charge of the program on safety. Sergeant Fred Hurst of the Highway Department, Greenville, was the speaker. He followed a brief talk on traffic conditions with a film, "Then There Were Four." Billie Frances directed a questionnaire on traffic rules. Following the program, members and guests enjoyed playing dominoes. The following members were present: Mr. and Mrs. Drey Avens, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Furr, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Blakemore, Monty Blakemore, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Evans, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Goodman, Robin Day, Brian Day, Mr. and Mrs. George McGee, Mr. and Mrs. S. W.
