One of the outstanding points given in this feature article was Audie recollection of the time he found Dode Davis lying unconscious at W. B. Taylor’s Grain house as a result of an accidental injury while grinding feed. The story related how young Murphy quickly disengaged his injured arm from the belts of the machine and summoned a doctor. Audie’s alertness and quick action probably saved Dode’s life. The John Cawthon family is especially commended for their kind treatment of Audie and his brothers and sisters when the financial strain of the depression was at its worst. Celeste people whose pictures appeared in the article are Mr. and Mrs. Dode Davis, Mrs. John Cawthon and Johnnie Bill Cawthon. Other local citizens mentioned were Edna Luna Roach, John Cawthon, Robert Cawthon, Don Cawthon, Miss Ardythe Davis, and W. B. Taylor. (March 28, 1952, The Celeste Courier)
