The white gold mounted ring had been lost early in September and was found in late November. It happened this way: Mrs. Haskell Henslee bought a boxed gift package at the store and on opening it at home, found the ring enclosed. Needless-to-say, Mrs. Henslee was overjoyed to rush to the store with the ring that was given up for gone. The whole neighborhood of friends, store employees, and salesmen were interested. Every nook of the store and the home was searched—for Maurine knew that it had slipped off her finger. It was rather loose since a recent remounting. On the day of the loss, Maurine had inspected and marked gifts and enclosed them in their original boxes. That was the angle overlooked evidently. The ring is a beauty—a Princess with three large, sparkling stones and numerous surrounding chipped diamonds. (December 7, 1962, The Celeste Courier)
