Ray, the youngest son of Mrs. Lillian Marvin, is now the Postmaster of the second Duncanville Post Office. As a "sideline," he trains new postmasters for their new assignments. He had been to Honey Grove during the day on that business. Mr. Marvin is a family man now with a wife and two children, a boy six years old and a daughter, four. The family members all are part of the church life of a Baptist Church in Duncanville. Ray is chairman of the Board of Deacons, among other assignments. He was hurrying back to attend an Evangelistic Conference on Monday night. His mother, Mrs. Marvin, with the little daughter, had visited her brother, the Hubert Lewis family in Kingston, during the day Monday. Mrs. Marvin’s present home is near the young family in Duncanville—and "in sight of the post office," to quote Ray. Quite naturally, Mr. Marvin visited our local post office and Postmaster Compton and workers. (January 13, 1961, The Celeste Courier) (I think the Celeste Post Office was also a "second class" office at this time because of J. R. Love Factory and all their shipping. Hard to imagine Duncanville and Celeste with the same sized offices! SSS)
