The story was told on Channel Five on the Texas News at 10:00 PM last Monday. Mrs. Wall, with her late husband, were operators of the Kirkpatrick Greyhound Farm near Lake Dallas. Mrs. Wall, with her thirteen-year old daughter, Teresa Wall, is continuing the business since Mr. Wall’s death about three months ago. This unusual business, the only farm of its kind, has several acres of fenced property with buildings and equipment to care for the breeding and training of thoroughbred racing dogs. Six hundred young dogs each year are born and in time trained for sale. The story told a bit about the training routines. At first, they are trained with live rabbits then are switched to mechanical ones. Rose, one of the younger of the "R" Williams, (all of the seven or eight children’s names begin with "R") was reared at Lane. She played guard on the basketball team here in the seasons of 1923 and 1924. Mrs. Edna Roach was her coach. Mrs. Wall’s brothers, Roscoe Williams and Ruel Williams, farmers near Trenton, are still frequent visitors to Celeste. (March 24, 1961, The Celeste Courier)
