Adams, 85, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, were held in Petering Funeral Chapel in Muskogee, with Dr. Argus J. Hamilton, pastor of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Adams died in the Muskogee Veterans Administration Hospital. He was born on August 20, 1888, in Celeste, where he drew up. He attended Draughns School of Business in Sherman and was in the lumber business after graduation. He married in 1919. A member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Adams was a fifty-three year member of the Masonic Lodge, 81, AF&AM, of Allen, Oklahoma, a member of Bedouin Shrine, and a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Adams was also a World War I veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mayo Adams of the home; three sisters, Mrs. G. B. Alexander of Fort Worth, Mrs. H. H. Pegg and Mrs. James Patterson, both of Ada, Oklahoma; a brother, A. Orr of Allen, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. (September 21, 1973, The Celeste Courier)
