Mrs. Cassie Ellard Atherton
   Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Ellard Atherton, 65, of 926 Bonham,
Amarillo, Texas, were held Friday, March 24, 1967, in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial
Chapel.  Dr. Jordan Grooms, minister of the Polk Street Methodist Church, was
the officiant.  Burial was in Llano Cemetery.
    Mrs. Atherton died Wednesday, March 22, 1967, in Saint Anthony's Hospital.
She was born in Celeste and had lived in Amarillo for thirty years.
    She was a member of the Polk Street Methodist Church, Bonita Chapter of the
Order of the Eastern Star, and Vaughn Selby Sunday School Class. Mrs. Atherton
had served as executive secretary of the Potter-Randall Medical Society, and
had been editor of the Bulletin of the Private Clinic and Hospital Association
of Texas.
    Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Frances Brandt of the home; a son, Tom
Atherton of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, I. J. Ellard, Jr., of San Antonio
and Robert B. Ellard of Amarillo; and two sisters, Mrs. Rita Craft of
Palestine, Texas and Mrs. Jo Shaver of Yucapipa, California.
