Fletcher Bland, nearly 66, died at his home, 2406 King Street, Greenville, on Wednesday of a heart attack. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Johnson Street Church of Christ with Allen Harper, minister, officiating, assisted by T. S. Teddle. Burial was made in McWright Cemetery under the direction of James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home. Pallbearers were H. R. Driggers, Bud McKee, A. A. Wilson, F. C. Thomas, L. V. Davenport, W. R. Hudson, R. E. Reynolds, and O. G. McCullough. He was born near Merit on March 7, 1892, the son of T. L. Bland and Hattie Grotts Bland. He had resided in Hunt County all his life and resided in Celeste before moving to Greenville twelve years ago. He was a carpenter by trade. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Miss Reba Bland, Greenville; a sisters, Mrs. Ted West; four nieces, Mrs. W. B. Stone, Mrs. R. S. Barnes, Mrs. Guy Jernigan, all of Dallas, and Mrs. Wilbur Rhodes, Houston. (February 7, 1958)
