Joe Burks
    Quinlan--Joe Burks of Celeste died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in Garland.
Funeral services are at noon, March 11, 2004, at Caddo Valley Church of Christ
with Allen Sowders officiating.  Burial is at Boles Home Cemetery under the
direction of Quinlan Funeral Home.
    Born January 4, 1957, in Texarkana, Arkansas, he was the son of John L.
Burks and Nancy Vaughan Burks.  He was married to Melinda Cook on December 28,
1982, in Rockwall.  Mr. Burks was a production coordinator at Cytech.  he was a
member of the Church of Christ and the Teamsters Local Union 745.
    Surviving are his wife of Celeste, two children Sarah Elizabeth Burks of
Celeste and Sherry Watson of Greenville; sisters Sherrie Burks of Quinlan,
Sarah Tharp of Genoa, Arkansas, and Nancy Moore of Texarkana; two brothers,
Howard Nettles of Arkansas and Bill Burks of Cash; and three grandchildren.
    His parents preceded him in death.
    Pallbearers are Heath Brown, Armondo Cantu, Chris Jennings, Danny
Greensage, Mark Greensage, and Ricky Judge.
    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.  (March
