Bobby Renfro officiating. Burial was in the Pike Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers. Mr. Childress died on December 24, 1973, in a Dallas hospital. He was born on July 12, 1911, at Pike, the son of George W. Childress and Bessie Barnes Childress. He was a building contractor. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Fay Childress of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn McGee of Celeste and Mrs. Mary Lipsey of Mesquite; two step- daughters, Mrs. Juanelle Zeirer of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Patricia Ethridge of Dallas; one step-son, Leonard Moss of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Leggett of Greenville and Mrs. Bonnie LeBlanc of Jackson, Mississippi; three brothers, George Childress of Mesquite and C. J. Childress of Celeste; and eleven grandchildren. W. Childress and Bessie B. Barnes Childress. He was married and a building contractor. He died on December 24, 1973, in Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, after being there one day. He was a resident at 2232 Anita Street, Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas. Mrs. J. M. Childress, wife, was the informant. Removal-burial was made on December 26, 1973, to Pike Cemetery, Leonard, Texas.
