All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** William Robert Cole William Robert Cole, 67, native Hunt County resident and prominent farmer of RR 3, Celeste, died at a Greenville hospital at 9:09 PM Monday night, following a two weeks' critical illness. He had been in ill health for the past several years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Celeste Methodist Church and interment will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery (Celeste Cemetery ?) near Celeste. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Harrison Baker of Dallas and Rev. A. W. Cunningham of Celeste. Pallbearers will be Jacque Bickham, R. C. Denny, Monroe Passons, Clarence McGuire, Pat Lewis, and Ernest Roach. The body will remain at he Gray-Ballard- Sorrells Funeral Home until shortly before time for the services. William Robert Cole was born in Celeste on October 19, 1880. He made that his home throughout the sixty-seven years of his life. He was the son of the late H. D. Cole and Mrs. Sallie Gray Cole. He was one of the most progressive and successful farmers of the Celeste community and had a legion of friends who will mourn his passing. He is survived by his widow, the former Mary Elizabeth Barger; two sons, Charlie Cole and Herman Cole of Celeste; five daughters, Mrs. U. S. Morris, Dallas; Miss Hazel Cole and Mrs. Jesse McWilliams, Celeste; and Miss Bernice Cole of Houston. Three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Mae Warren, Greenville; Mrs. Kate Elliott, Ada, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Fannie Glasscoe, Celeste; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and his mother, Sallie Cole of Celeste.
