All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Bernard Odell Comer Bernard Odell Comer, 75, of 1514 Wolfe City Dr., Greenville, died on April 2, 1978, at 4:50 AM in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services were at 3:30 PM, Monday, at Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel with the Rev. H. V. Caraway and the Rev. Richard Dunagin officiating. Burial was in Memoryland Memorial Park. Pallbearers were nephews Leon Newman, Larry Warren, James Compton, Jerry Bickham, Guy Trotter, and Billy Compton. He was born in Texas on October 10, 1902, the son of Bud Comer and Myra Comer. On January 27, 1926, he was married to Gladys Green at Greenville. He was an electrician at E-System until his retirement and a member of the Westview United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of Greenville; a brother, Charlie Comer of Zapata; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jones of Long Beach, California and Mrs. Winnie Cletcher of Kermit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter and three sisters. He was the brother of the late Mrs. S. M. Compton of Celeste. (April 7, 1978, The Celeste Courier)
