    Mr. J. T. Creed, 61, of Celeste passed away September 25, 1985, in a
Greenville hospital.
    Services were held Saturday in the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. James
Seigler officiating with burial in Santa Rosa, California.
    He was born May 21, 1924, in Edgewood; he was the son of Robert Amon Creed
and Lucille Cole Creed.  He married Ardis Jean Naver on October 5, 1946 in
Santa Rosa.  He served for twenty-three years in the United States Navy,
including World War II.  He was also a retired farmer.
    He is survived by his wife of Celeste; a step-mother, Earline Creed of
Celeste; a son, Donald Creed of Santa Rosa; two brothers, Johnny Ray Creed of
Celeste and Robert Earl Creed of Otterville, Missouri; four sisters, Barbara
Cole, Joyce Ann Wilcox, both of Celeste, Lela Fae Seigler of Savoy, Tommie Sue
Dean of Cash; and one grandchild.
    Pallbearers were M. D. Babers, Jeffrey Babers, Ronnie Brown, Roger Seigler,
