Cryer Died Monday at Greenville Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, in Greenville for James R. Cryer, father of Mrs. Lee Bostick of Greenville. He died at the Bostick home at 3:00 AM Monday, September 21, 1959. Mr. Cryer was a resident at the Cole Boarding House in Greenville until he became ill. H. W. Sargent, Greenville Church of Christ minister and Rev. W. O. Majors conducted the services. Burial was made in Midway Cemetery. Pallbearers were Preston Hopewell, Millard Titus, H. F. Bostick, Ula Doyle, James Taggart, and Coburn Moser. Mr. Cryer was a retired farmers and had lived for many years in the Celeste area. He was born in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas, on October 27, 1884. His parents were Jesse Cryer and Martha Cryer and he was a member of the Church of Christ. On July 4, 1906, he was married to Miss Josie Johnson. She died in February, 1919. In December, 1922, he married Miss Callie Burnes and she died June 7, 1954. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lee Bostick and Mrs. Jack McWilliams, Greenville; four sons, J. C. Cryer and James A. Cryer, Dallas; Archie Cryer, Grand Prairie; and Billy Ray Cryer who is stationed in Germany, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Cantrell, Dallas.
