Dale Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Davis, of Celeste, was killed while in active service with the Signal Corps in France on February 21, according to a message received by his parents from the War Department. Pvt. Davis was reared in Celeste and was graduated from Celeste High School where he was prominent in sports. He entered the service in the Spring of 1943 and had been overseas since last June. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Davis, Celeste; five sisters, Mrs. LaVerne Connatser, Miss Ardith Davis, Miss Wilma Davis, Miss Lorene Davis, and Miss Nelda Davis; and one brother, Sgt. Glen Davis, who is in India; and a half-brother, Pvt. Joe Davis, who is with the Third Army in France; and a half-sister, Miss Gladys Davis, 2501 Crockett Street, Greenville.
