Mrs. J. Loyd Friddle
    Graveside rites for Mrs. J. Loyd Friddle were held Thursday, August 21,
1967,  at Big Sandy Cemetery near Gladewater.
    Born June 7, 1900, in Leonard, the former Louise Blackwell was the daughter
of Starling Blackwell and Jane Felmet Blackwell.  She was married to J. Loyd
Friddle, Sr., on December 22, 1922.  They lived in Celeste for several years
where they operated a plumbing and tin shop, later moving to Greenville.  Mr.
Friddle died in 1964.
    Mrs. Friddle died Saturday, August 16, 1967, at the home of a son, J. Loyd
Friddle, Jr., in Pennsylvania.
    Survivors in addition to her son are two daughters, Mrs. Donna Lou Henry of
Mesquite and Mrs. Freida Ann Smith of California; her mother, Mrs. Jane
Blackwell of Kilgore; three brothers, Dean Blackwell, Kilgore; Don Blackwell,
Dallas; Kile Blackwell, Waco; and several grandchildren.
    Mrs. Friddle was a sister-in-law of Mrs. T. E. Peirson, Sr., Leonard, and
Mrs. E. T. Davis, Celeste.  (September 1, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
