All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** HARVEY PAUL MONROE FURR Harvey Paul Monroe Furr, 94, who came to Texas from North Caroline in 1903, died Monday, May 11, 1959, at 1:50 AM in a Dallas hospital following a three- week illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Tuesday at the Celeste Methodist Church. The Rev. Albert Click, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Celeste Cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers. Born in North Carolina on January 6, 1865, Mr. Furr came to Hunt County when a boy and located in the Celeste community where he had since made his home. He followed the vocation of farming until retirement. He was a member of the Celeste Methodist Church. On December 13, 1888, he was married to Alice D. Morrow. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1955. Surviving are four sons, H. H. Furr, Celeste, C. E. Furr, Borger, Texas, R. C. Furr and J. B. Furr, Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. A. A. Gentry and Mrs. F. H. Darnell of Dallas and Mrs. H. E. Goodman of Celeste; one sister, Mrs. Stella McDonald, Dallas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
