All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Fred Odell Giles Funeral services for Fred Odell Giles, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Celeste, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2003, at the West Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at the Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas, with Frank Giles, Gene Giles, Elmer Giles, Dale Giles, Tammy Giles, Jamy Giles, Gary Giles, and Tim Giles serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, at the funeral home. Mr. Giles died at 12:15 PM Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1925, in the Callis community of Collin County, Texas, the son of Verin E. and Gladys Mize Giles. He married Wyvonne Nichols on July 6, 1946 in Greenville, Texas, and she survives. Mr. Giles was a retired sales distributor with Curtiss Candy for many years and held various other jobs in Sulphur Springs. He was a member of the Martin Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, two sons; Terry Michael Giles and Rose Giles of Tyler and Stanley Keith Giles and Connie Giles of Greenville. Also surviving are nine half-brothers; W. S. Giles of Paris, Frank Giles of Campbell, Gene Giles of Bogota, Elmer Giles of Canton, Mississippi, Dale Giles of Wolfe City, Tammy Giles of Commerce, Jamy Giles of Sulphur Springs, Gary Giles of Wolfe City, Tim Giles of Celeste; one half-sister, Vanetta Arriaga of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, Mickey Ray Giles in 1957, Ricky Thomas Giles in 1998, and Jerry Fred Giles in 1994. Also, two brothers, V.J. Giles and Tom Giles; half-brother, Royce Giles; two sisters, Theda Faye Roach and Zelleva Abernathy and one-half sister, Eutricia Williams, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network c/o Mother Francis Hospital Tyler or the Sulphur Springs Salvation Army.
