Services for the former Celeste resident were held at Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel with the Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial was in the Memoryland Memorial Park, and nephews were pallbearers. Glawson was born on September 14, 1891, in Macon, Georgia, the son of Joseph W. Glawson and Addie Mae Pugh Glawson. He was married to Ruth Baker on December 7, 1912, in Greenville. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a son, Joe H. Glawson of San Antonio; a daughter, Mrs. J. O. Monroe of Greenville; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Barker and Mrs. Vera Castle, both of Greenville, Mrs. Grace Vaughn of Dallas and Mrs. Hazel Stamps of Gladewater; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also two nieces, Elzada Fugitt and Myrtle Stapleton, both of Celeste; and several cousins. (October 20, 1978, The Celeste Courier)
