Hanley Green, 90, of Greenville, died at 11:50 AM, January 11, 1974, in Commerce. Funeral services were at 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 13, 1974, at the White Rock Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Ridley and the Rev. James Gatlin officiating. Burial was in the Tidwell Cemetery under direction of Coker-Mathew-Peters Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Snooks Green, Tip Green, Horton Green, John Marion Powell, J. T. Green, Burl Green, Bruce Caldwell, Billy Caldwell, and Austin Green. Mrs. Green was born on March 16, 1883, in Celeste, the daughter of John J. Hanley and Lurena Stuart Hanley. She was married to Marion F. Green on September 8, 1898, in White Rock. She was a member of the White Rock Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Madalan L. Smith and Mrs. Inez Shields, both of Greenville; four grandchildren, Mrs. Johnnie Marleta Crim of San Antonio, Dennis Smith, Jr., of Denton, Mrs. Ella Francine Salzare of Tucson, Arizona, Marion Case Green of Anaheim, California; and four great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 22, 1955, and a son, Marvin Green on April 21, 1945. She died on January 11, 1974, in Commerce, Hunt County, Texas, at Oak Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for six months. Her most current address was 538 Loraine Circle, Greenville, Texas. She was a home owner and a widow. Mrs. Inez Shields, daughter, was the informant.
