LEONARD

    Nancy Goodman, 85, lifelong resident of Celeste, died Monday,
February 10, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.  Funeral services
are at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in
Celeste with Rev. Bob Layman officiating.

    The daughter of Joseph R. Bishop and Abby Bishop, she was born May 1,
1917, in Celeste.  On October 9, 1937, she was married to J.W. Goodman, who
preceded her in death in 1979.  Mrs. Goodman was a lifetime member of the
First Baptist Church of Celeste and a Celeste graduate, Class of 1936.  She
was a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

    Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Bobby Goodman and Jo Goodman
of Irving and Jim Goodman and Sandra Goodman of Mesquite; daughters and
sons-in-law Betty Key and Clyde Key of Cash and Billie Pickerill and Ralph
Pickerill of Powderly and Esta Lee Morgan of Sulphur Springs; thirteen
grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;
seven brothers and two sisters.

     Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

     Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at
Taylor  Funeral Home in Leonard.
