C. Johnson took place yesterday in the Hopewell Cemetery, following funeral services at the family residence in Floyd at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. L. E. Conklin. Mr. Johnson was a Confederate veteran and a devout Christian, being a member of the Methodist Church. He was born in Lincoln County, Tenn., June 5, 1833. He came to Texas and settled in Hunt County in 1892, residing here ever since that time. The deceased is survived by six children, A. B. Johnson of Floyd, Ed Johnson of Merit, Mrs. Sallie Butler of Floyd, Mrs. May Belle Wylie of Merit and S. E. Johnson of Floyd. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Batty and Mrs. Lucy Harris of Tennessee, and Mrs. W. F. Mock of Jacobia.
