Mrs. Zelydia [Zelida] Johnston Dead Word was received here this week of the death of Mrs. Zelydia Johnston, mother of Tom Johnston of this city and of Dick Johnston of Bryan Texas, with whom she was making her home. Mrs. Johnston was born in Tennessee in 1839, came to Texas when four years of age and with her parents settled in Hopkins County. Later they moved to Hunt county and she was married to Lemuel A. Johnston about 1860. Seven children were born to them, three of whom are living now, Tom Johnston, of this place, Dick Johnston, of Bryan Texas, and Malcolm Johnston of Dimmitt Texas. Mrs. Johnston was one of the old pioneers of this country and has many friends and acquaintances who will regret to learn of her death. She was buried Saturday, 20 of March, at Bryan. [I would like to find out the names of the other four children of Zelida and Lemuel. Tom Johnston was my great grandfather. Zelida's maiden name was Wortham.]
