Jones, long-time resident of Celeste, died at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 1960, at her home following a short illness. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Celeste. Officiating at the service were the Rev. H. B. Gideon and Rev. Dan Vestal. Burial was made in the Celeste Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mack Pierson, Jack Ruff, W. B. Lanier, Albert Granberry, Houston Furr, and George McGee. Mrs. Jones was born September 18, 1879 in Georgia and was the daughter of R. N. Bearden and Artie Bearden. She was a member of the Celeste Baptist Church. Only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. (August 26, 1960, The Celeste Courier) Attends Funeral Out-of-town people who attended the funeral services for Mrs. John Jones last Saturday afternoon included thirteen nieces and nephews. The much beloved couple, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jones, having no children of their own, were blessed with loyal nephews and nieces as well as a hosts of friends in this area. L. Piles of Wichita Falls, Mr. Clinton D. Smith of Fort Worth, Mrs. W. F. Griffin of Wolfe City, Miss Pearl McClure of Dallas, Mr. Frank Garrett of Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bullock Quitman, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson and boys of Cypress, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bearden of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bearden and son US Navy, San Francisco. Out-of-town friends were Mrs. W. R. Wilson of Greenville, Mrs. A. H. Lewis of Garland, Mrs. Klein of Dallas, Mr. Nelson Shankle of Greenville, Mmes. Fay Milton, J. E.
