Jenkins, formerly of this city, died at the family home in Amarillo at 5 o'clock Sunday morning after more than a year's illness. He was a son of Rev. and Mrs. R. F. Jenkins and was well known in this city, his father having been the pastor of the First Baptist Church here for more than seven years prior to moving to Amarillo. W. S. Jenkins was born on a farm in Morris County, Tex., July 23, 1876.
