All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Thelma Edwina Duncan Luna Thelma Edwina Luna, 102, of Greenville, died the morning of April 28, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services were at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Matt Richardson officiating. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Daughter of Noah Duncan and Jennie Kaiser Duncan, she was born on February 7, 1902, in Hunt County. On September 12, 1919, she was married to Howell Luna in Greenville. Mrs. Luna was a homemaker. She was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice Vaughn and James Vaughn of Celeste; a brother, Lee Duncan of North Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Isaac Eddie Burns of South Sulphur, Kimberly Kay Block of Fresno, California, Marty Burns of Linden, and Edwina Burns of Greenville; step-grandchildren, Shawn Vaughn of Arkansas, Michael Vaughn of Oklahoma, and Justin Vaughn of Arkansas; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Pallbearers were Larry McCullough, Lynn Hudson, Wayne Wallace, Jim Hodo, Farrell Nalls, and Verdane Nalls. C. W. Spainhour and Franklin Duncan were honorary pallbearers. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 30th, at the funeral home. (April 30, 2004, The Greenville Herald Banner)
