Lyday, 6263 Malcom, a Dallas physician since 1948, were at 1:00 PM Tuesday in Saint Matthews Chapel. The Rev. Thomas C. Keithley officiated and burial was in Restland Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Joe M. Nall, E. Burton Knight, Dr. Mark Welch, T. M. Dalton, Dr. Oscar Marchman, Jr., Dr. Richard Martinak, Dr. William S. Reynolds, and Dr. Sheldon Blair. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Lyday died in a Dallas hospital following a brief illness. Born in Celeste fifty-eight years ago, he was graduated from the University of Texas and Baylor University College of medicine. During World War Ii, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel with the US Army Medical Corps. A resident of Dallas for twenty years, he was a clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Lyday was a member of the Saint Matthews Cathedral. Professional associations of which he was a member were the Dallas County Medical Society, The Dallas Southern Clinical Society, the American Medical Association, the Dallas Academy of Internal Medicine, the Southern Medical Association, and the Texas Diabetes Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Lyday; a son, Victor I. Lyday, Jr., of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin A cook of Dallas; and a sister, Mrs. Ray Nelson of Pflugerville, Travis County, Texas. Relatives from Celeste attending the services were Mr. adn Mrs. Mord Lyday, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clark, Mrs. Grace Brazil, J. W. Glasscock, and Ellis Glasscock. (August 11, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
