All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Mrs. Opal Gregory Manley Mrs. Opal Gregory Manley, 74, 2307 Pickett Street, Greenville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 17, 1967, in a Greenville hospital. Services were at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 1967, at the Sorrells and Sons Funeral Chapel, Greenville, with the Rev. Raymond Bugg and the Rev. W. O. Majors officiating. Burial was in McWright Cemetery. Mrs. Manley was born in 1893 in Kentucky, the daughter of William Gregory and Labertha Feddy Gregory. She came to Texas with her parents as a child and had lived in Hunt County most of her life. She was married in the early 1900's to G. C. Payne, who died in 1945. She later married Bob A. Manley. She was a member of Mineral Heights Baptist Church in Greenville. Besides her widower, survivors include two sons, Floyd Payne of Sulphur Springs and A. D. Payne of Garland; six daughters, Mr. Edna Wright of Greenville, Mrs. Selma Lanier of Celeste, Mrs. Lorene Atteberry of Irving, Mrs. Odell Childress of Blue Ridge, and Mrs. Evelyn Atteberry, and Mrs. Veda Stokey of Dallas. Also twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren survive. Mrs. Manley's grandsons served as pallbearers.
