D. C. McClanahan Services Wednesday at Greenville

    D. C. McClanahan, Celeste, RR 3, died suddenly at 3:00 PM, Monday,
August 7, 1961, in a Greenville hospital.

    Funeral services were at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, August 9, 1961, in the
Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville.  The Rev. Ed Wyatt of
the Kingston Baptist Church and the Rev. Matt Gibbons, Dallas, officiated.

    He was born December 3, 1888, in Kingston, the son of G. M. McClanahan
and Mary Wyatt McClanahan.

    A retired farmer at the time of his death, he was a veteran of World War
I.

    Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. G. F. Langham and Mrs. Ila Wallace, both
of Celeste; four brothers, J. L. McClanahan, Greenville; C. N. McClanahan, W.
L. McClanahan, and E. E. McClanahan, all of Celeste; and several nieces and
nephews.

    Nephews served as pallbearers.
