McGuire, a former superintendent of the Richardson Independent School District, died on July 12*, 1978, of natural causes. Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson. Interment was in the Restland Memorial Park. The son of William James McGuire and Sarah A. Elizabeth Jane Roach McGuire, he was born in Celeste, Hunt County, Texas on April 4, 1888. McGuire, 90. served as school superintendent from 1914 to 1916 and was bailiff of the Dallas County Grand Jury for twenty-five years. He was married to the late Rita Campbell McGuire. He was graduated from Southwestern University and was a charter member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Keagy of Pampa; a sisters, Mrs. Ida Gibson of Leonard; a brother, Clarence McGuire of Celeste; four grandchildren, Joan White of Richardson, Jean Fielder of McAlister, Oklahoma, Jim Keagy of Amarillo, and Janet Keagy of Pampa; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGuire of Idabel, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McGuire of Celeste, and Mrs. Ella Bess Shields of Howe.
