Clarence Chilton McGuire
    Celeste--Funeral service for Clarence C. McGuire, 90, of Celeste, is set
for 2:00 PM Monday, November 1, 1982, at the Celeste First United Methodist
Church.
    He died Saturday afternoon, October 30, 1982, at a Greenville hospital.
    The Rev. Robert Ridley and Rev. Jim Dodson will officiate, and burial will
be in Lane Cemetery.
    He is born March 13, 1892, in the Lane community to J. W. McGuire and Sarah
Elizabeth Roach McGuire.  He was married to Cindie Hunter on April 11, 1922 in
Celeste (White Rock ?).  A veteran of World War I, Mr. McGuire was a retired
farmer and member of the Celeste Methodist Church.  He was a former director
for Hunt Collin Electric Cooperative.
    Survivors include his wife of Celeste; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Bess Shields
of Howe, and two grandchildren, Gary Mac Shields and Paula Ann Shields.
    He was preceded in death by a son, John William McGuire.
    Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
