All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mrs. Martha J. Maupin Died Here Last Week Mrs. Martha J. Maupin, widow of the late J. A. Maupin, died here at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eb Scott, last Wednesday night at the age of eighty-eight years. Deceased was a native of Tennessee, but a pioneer of Kingston section in Hunt County. She was married to J. A. Maupin in Tennessee in 1858 and following the Civil War, they came to Texas in 1866, traveling in an ox wagon, and settled near Kingston where they reared a family and spent more than half a century. Her husband preceded her in death, but she is survived by the following children: Bob Maupin of Dallas; Dr. W. A. Maupin and Dr. J. H. Maupin of Rowell; and S. B. Maupin of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Ella Buchanan of Dallas; Mrs. W. Todd Largent of McKinney; Mrs. O. L. Cardwell of Dallas; Mrs. E. H. Scott of Greenville; and Mrs. Mike Yates of Waco. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and numerous other relatives. (April 10, 1930, The Greenville Messenger)
