Mooney Greenville--Tom M. Mooney, 58, known throughout Texas and Oklahoma as a rancher and civic leader, died at 8:00 AM in a Greenville hospital. Mr. Mooney is said to have suffered a heart attack earlier in the week. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday in the Washington Street Baptist Church. The Rev. George Sagen, Granite City, Illinois, will officiate and burial will be made in Forest Park Cemetery. The arrangements are being made by Gray-Sorrells Funeral Home and the body will remain there until time for the services. Born in Brashear, Hopkins County, Texas, on February 22, 1899, Mr. Mooney was the son of R. W. Mooney and Rosalie McNeely Mooney. He was reared in Brashear and on December 24, 1921, he was married to Naoma Bowden. They moved to Dallas in 1926. In 1931, the family returned to Greenville and since that time had maintained a home at 2211 Stanford Street. He was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife; one son, Bruce Mooney, Oklahoma; a daughter Mrs. Buster Little, Greenville; one grandchild; two brothers, William J. Mooney, Dallas and Haywood Mooney, Lufkin; four sisters, Mrs. Zula Bridges, Dallas, Mrs. Allen Sanders, Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Gennie Heath, Emory, and Mrs. Gil D. The Rev. George Sagen, Granite City, Illinois, and a former pastor will office. Burial will be made in Forest Park. Arrangements are being made by Gray-Sorrells Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be M. D. Abernathy and Jim Mooney, Dallas; Billy Edwards and Leonard Denton, Greenville; Burley E. Denton and C. P. Wiggs, Garland; Clyde Moseley, Cumby; and Dawson Blount, Tyler.
