Morrison, 81, of rural Greenville, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 1967, at 3:00 PM in Greenville Surgical Hospital. He was born March 17, 1886 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of J. W. Morrison and Betty Worley Morrison. He came to Texas at the age of eleven, and lived in the Kellogg community since that time. He was married to Esther Read in Kellogg on October 16, 1911. She preceded him in death of January 20, 1967. He was a member of the Kingston Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, O. B. Morrison, Bonham; Fletcher Morrison, Greenville; and Jimmy Morrison, Greenville; one daughter, Mrs. R. H. Monday, Fort Worth; four brothers, Alva Morrison, Tate Morrison, and Bill Morrison, all of Greenville; and Byrd Morrison, Celeste; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Williams, Greenville; and Mrs. Nora Danser, Saint Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 1967, at Coker-Mathews- Peters Funeral Chapel, Greenville. Ministers Rev. Bob Layman, Rev. Bill Reisor, and Rev. Jimmy Shedd officiated. Burial was in the McWright Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bert Reisor, L. B. McKay, Ray Williams, Albert Hammock, Bill Quattlebaum, and Ward Thomas, Jr. (May 19, 1967, The Celeste Courier)
